The Story Behind the Shirt
A convert priest wrote it in 1849 for England's Catholic martyrs. Fr. Frederick Faber, once an Anglican, wrote for the Catholics who had died for the faith in England since the days of Henry VIII. One line carries the whole story: the faith of our fathers, living still "in spite of dungeon, fire, and sword." It has since been printed in more than 900 hymnals.
On the back: a steepled church, cross on the spire, between two bare, twisted trees under rays of gold light, over "FAITH OF OUR FATHERS" and "LIVING STILL" in gold. On the chest: the original 1765 A Co. mark in our founder's own hand. More Catholic t-shirts.
